Ownership & Intellectual Property

Asset Core is proprietary and closed-source software. All code, documentation, and associated materials are the exclusive property of Michael Campbell and the Asset Core project.

No open-source license is granted. Asset Core is distributed exclusively as binary-only software under specific commercial or research license agreements.

Licensing Structure

Asset Core is available under two primary license types:

Research License

Non-commercial, binary-only access for university labs and independent researchers. Includes:

Binary runtime access (no source code)
Non-commercial use only (research and education)
Citation requirements for academic publications
Confidentiality and non-disclosure obligations
No redistribution or reverse engineering

Evaluation License

Paid pilot access for applied teams evaluating Asset Core for commercial deployment. Includes:

Binary runtime access (no source code)
Time-limited pilot period (30–90 days)
Non-production use only (evaluation environments)
Technical support and integration assistance
Confidentiality and non-disclosure obligations
No redistribution or reverse engineering

Prohibited Activities

Unless explicitly authorized in a signed license agreement, the following activities are strictly prohibited:

Reverse engineering, decompilation, or disassembly of binaries
Redistribution, sublicensing, or sharing of Asset Core binaries or documentation
Commercial use under Research License terms
Production deployment under Evaluation License terms
Removal or modification of copyright notices or proprietary markings
Use in violation of applicable laws or regulations

Copyright Notice

Asset Core, its documentation, and all associated materials are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution is prohibited and may result in civil and criminal penalties.

Disclaimer & Warranty

Asset Core is provided under license agreements that include specific warranty and liability terms. In general:

Research License: Software is provided “as-is” for research purposes with no warranty of any kind
Evaluation License: Software is provided for pilot evaluation with limited support warranties as defined in the pilot agreement
Production License: Commercial agreements include SLA-backed warranties and support terms

Specific warranty terms are documented in each license agreement. No warranty is implied beyond what is explicitly stated in the signed agreement.

Compliance & Export Control

Licensees are responsible for compliance with all applicable laws, including:

Export control regulations (ITAR, EAR, or equivalent)
Data protection and privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
Industry-specific regulations (HIPAA, SOC 2, etc. as applicable to use case)

Asset Core may be subject to export control restrictions. Licensees must not export, re-export, or transfer Asset Core to prohibited countries, entities, or individuals without proper authorization.
